My name is Lyra, and I’m the heart and soul behind Lyra Recipes. Born and raised amidst the vibrant energy of Athens, Greece, my childhood was steeped in the alluring aromas of traditional Greek cuisine and the captivating tales spun by my yiayia (grandmother) in our sun-drenched kitchen.

While music, particularly the rich tones of my cello, was my first love and solace, the culinary world held an undeniable allure. My yiayia, a true culinary artisan, ignited that spark. She viewed cooking as an art form, a way to weave stories, forge connections, and share her heart through each carefully crafted dish.

Inspired by her passion, I traded the bustling streets of Athens for the hallowed halls of École Ducasse in Paris after high school. Immersing myself in the precision, artistry, and world-renowned techniques of French cuisine was transformative.

My culinary journey has been anything but linear; think of it as an intricate melody, guided by instinct and a deep-rooted belief in food’s power to evoke memories and forge connections. That pivotal moment came while helping my yiayia prepare her signature Spanakopita. From that moment, I was captivated.
